南韓公布MERS確診病例累積達一五四例，其中十九例死亡，主因在於就醫接觸病患而感染，顯示醫療人員警覺是降低擴散風險重要的關鍵；有鑒於此，台中市政府衛生局派出神秘客模擬病患就醫，檢驗全市五十一家地區醫院，並抽驗一○三家診所，結果全數通過檢驗，也藉此提升了醫護人員的防疫意識。
衛生局表示，這次發現所有受測單位皆於明顯處均張貼宣導、就診處置流程海報，於櫃檯詢問或掛號時，也會立即詢問旅遊史等資料，測試的醫護人員皆認為，全市現階段對於措施及流程都十分清楚，而且資訊取得都很快速，防疫措施在配合上相當順手。
衛生局指出，基層院所是社區健康的守護者，更是防疫的第一線，透過台中市醫師公會、台中市大台中醫師公會、台中市診所協會、台中市山海屯診所協會大力的參與及協助，各醫院、診所都能夠獲知有關MERS的防疫措施及就醫規劃，最重要的是全體醫護人員對於防疫及通報警覺的提升，熟捻TOCC的問診（旅遊史、職業史、接觸史、群聚史），是社區防疫最堅實的一道防線。
衛生局長徐永年呼籲，近日南韓每日新增的病例略有下降，但這兩周仍需多加注意，也請民眾遵守國家防疫措施，聽從防疫人員的衛教提醒或指示。
尤其是自流行地區回國十四天內有任何不舒服，無論症狀輕重，務必戴上口罩並就醫，或撥打一九二二尋求協助，降低疫病入侵的風險。
